KSL.com is looking for news interns to join our sports team. Sports interns will pitch stories as part of the team and write assigned articles each day of assigned work. They will conduct research and interviews for each story they write, and they may have the opportunity to go out in the field on stories. They will have the opportunity to build a personal brand on social media and gain exposure to KSL.com’s nearly 178K+ Twitter and more than 128K+ Facebook followers.
Interns should be able to professionally conduct interviews, research and appropriately attribute sources. This is a paid position and will fulfill requirements for school internship credit. Public transportation passes are also offered.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed intro to news writing or reporting class
- Have 3-5 portfolio clippings of different types (breaking, hard news, daily news, features, sports, etc.)
- A working knowledge of AP style and inverted pyramid writing
- Interviewing skills
